It's been a min since I wrote a blog.. but I was led to share my thoughts..so here it goes...

Sometimes living out here in Los Angeles the land of dreams, the world of self... U can get lost in your pursuit of success. I know this is too true for me. On one hand Selfishness can be a good thing. It’s positive to make your self a priority..your dreams, your goals, your well being...but if u don't have some type of balance going on you will find that emptiness will become your friend. It happens all the time.. People work hard, isolate themselves then reach there goal and have a feeling of “now what? ” Success does take some level of isolation, and focus..but some of us use our dream chase as an excuse to shut everything else out.. I personally am guilty of this.. I know I'm not alone. I’ve been selfish with my money and especially selfish with my time. I have put so much of my self worth in my success I expect others to just “understand” that I can’t be there or that I don’t have a birthday gift for them.. I mean c’mon one day I'm going to reach my goal and everything will be fine right? I expect others to care just as much as I do about my semi obsession with being successful. But the truth is they don't have to... and tomorrow is not promised. You don't get time back and money is tangible. It’s important to operate in the now of life. If right now a friend needs you but you have to go to the studio or some meeting think about right now first .. I'm not saying don't go hard for what u want in life.. just remember that what u want includes what u are right now. I'm at a point where I feel like I need a detox from self.. I'm tired of my self absorbed ways...cause at the end of the day when we are done obsessing with our lives and what we want to accomplish.. u need people ( outside of network friends) u need relationships. Life in all inclusive. I challenge u to reflect on your life see where u may need a self detox..

What's up blogworld..How's everything?? hopefully good. Hopefully u are all spending time with your families, eating some good food and, preparing for the new year. I can't believe it's here already. I feel like i blinked and 2008 is gone! Nonetheless I plan to make 2009 a productive year. Recently I met a young artist by the name of Morgan Brown.. She's sings and raps.. SUPER TALENTED KID. She has a cool Charisma about her. I would say Swag..but i HATE that word right now.. It's like we get one word we think is cool and we run it into the ground..lol. Anyway back to Morgan we've been diligently working on her project for the past couple weeks and everything is coming together quite nice. I can't wait to let you all here what we've been cookin up! So stay tuned in there's so much more to come....

Ok so before I heard this song..A friend of mine asked me "Have u heard the new Musiq song..I hate it it's garbage..." I thought to myself..Hmm Musiq..One of my favorite artist.. he usually can do no wrong in my eyes.. but I'm open to it being wack..I just highly doubt it. Umm ok so I'm kinda late but Goodie Mob With Cee-lo and everything is back jack! When I say I love Goodie mob I mean it.. They are definitely in my top ten list of hip hop groups/MC's. They're music was always innovative and still soulful and classic. LOVE THEM! lol almost as much as outkast. But aywhoo rumor has it they are reuniting. I will be holding my breath. Yes I said WILL. I know Hate is a strong word....but I whole heartily mean it when I say it about Fox news. They are so blatantly racist and hypocritical. Sometimes I watch Bill O'reily and it actually makes me laugh how ridiculous he can be. He should be a comedian instead of a news journalist. Now an intelligent MC by the name of Nas who is working with an organization called the color of change Has attempted to deliver a petition to Fox news to stop the obvious hate fueled perspective they put on the news. I applaud him for standing up and making a effort to inspire change...and they say Hip Hop is dead..

I was at a studio called the BOOM BOOM ROOM working and I actually saw her sitting in the kitchen laughing and talking with her friends I didn't take that opportunity to say what a fan I was and how much I would love to write a song for her.. If I can take this moment to say that no matter what you are going through. No matter what you have been through. It's important to acknowledge that there is no LOVE like God's love. He will take a tragedy and turn it into triumph. He will take your Sickness's and turn them into surceases. a couple a weeks ago my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Something every male on my fathers side has had. My grandfather actually passed away with this disease. But I'm so grateful to God and I am so in awe of his grace... my father had surgery today to remove his cancer...and the surgery was in fact successful. Now there is a chance that it could come back. But I'm not worried. I know that God is with us always. His love is beyond cancer. Another incident that happened recently.. One of my Best friends in the whole world.. (Tara King) was graced by a bullet across her chest.. One wrong move and it would have went into her heart. But again.. God's grace and love conquers all. She is alive and well. Bruised and scarred but alive. She is forever transformed and now more than ever understands that God is in control. Fear and worry are but mere feelings. I praise God and thank him for both of these tragedies. Because in both situations he showed his power. His love. His mercy. I know that everything happens for a reason..and we are all put on this earth for a purpose and that's to save others as God has saved us. So I pray that anyone reading this..whatever troubles you face...put your trust in him. and you will Triumph no matter what.

He aspires to " Stir up feelings, capture imaginations and fuel thoughts with his messages of hope and love." I was introduced to this young artist's music by a really good friend of mine, DJ KMP. He asked me to write a song for Von Sway. It was my first attempt at writing a song for a guy. I really liked what I wrote... but they ended up not choosing it. What's up world..hopefully you've eaten enough barbecue to last u until July 4Th.. I know I have :) I've been reading Russel Simmons Book Do You. It's very very good. I suggest everyone go out and get it. He talks a lot about the spiritual rewards of giving and he has quite a few inspiring stories about Puffy, Jay Z, and other people who are now successful in the music industry. One message that really stuck with me.. was to not be so attached to results. While it's imperative we set goals, and reach for the stars.. it's not required that we worry ourselves to death because we are not in the place we "think" we should be. Powerful. This really hit home for me because for the past couple of years I feel like I've tried so hard to get myself out there, get my name noticed, a song heard, a song placed something!! I've accomplished a lot of things and met a lot of great people, but I'm definitely not at the place I envision in my head. I now see that I must let go. Enjoy the journey and continue working hard and be open to change. The possibilities are on my side. Can u relate? Here's a song for your troubles:) Remember this?!?! Have a good week!

Glad u asked...SoulCandy is the way I describe my music..It's sweet and tasty yet it has a soulful edge. Candy is a good treat but too much candy can rot your teeth..So I add the soul to balance it out. I would say I try to combine 4 differnt styles to to make my soulcandy.
